Almost Midway 2025!
What's ahead so far for the latter half of the year...

Hi all, and happy Summer or Winter, depending upon your hemisphere! I'm good and ready to make my complaints about the season, but I am also excited to take advantage of the great things on offer as well. (I like to joke that the best part about summer is that it means I'm only 3 months away from the best season, autumn.)
There's a lot happening, both this summer and through the rest of the year. To that end, I've made an actual blog post rounding up the news, "Upcoming 2025 Events":

And of course, this is what's confirmed. I don't know what else might happen, but discussions are happening about various and sundry. This is how it goes, generally: ideas are tossed about, invitations are made, things either happen, or they don't. There's always uncertainty. In 2025, there is more of it.
I now must figure out what to do to replace my "day job" as a science writer, as my current role ends on the 30th of this month. I will still be a science writer, but I won't have anyone paying me to do that. So, I have many decisions to make as I job hunt. The market is dire for science at the moment, so I may need to duct tape together other gigs. I wish I was one of those writers who makes great money writing fiction, but that is not the case, currently. I know I have supportive readers here who buy my books, and I appreciate you so much!
I'm digging back into art, meanwhile, and my Patreon tier supporters will directly benefit from that. (Thank you for your support, which helps me get art supplies!) I've just ordered some more metallic ink to replace a small sample vial whose color I'm obsessed with. It's called "Tranquility," and is a subtle, reddish-purple with gold glitter. I'm using these kinds of inks as layers to my watercolor and marker art, using small and larger paintbrushes. They seep nicely into watercolor paper and give depth to the pictures. I likely will sell larger pieces soon.
I also, as you know, want to go explore. I've even typed more on my travel memoirs this past week, which prompted me to consider a return trek to the southern Oregon coast after some 15 years away from it. Hmm.
Meanwhile, I have some books for sale on my Ko-fi shop (US shipping only at this time), and I'll be adding more to that soon, if you want to take a look:

I also soft-launched the crowd-funding campaign for our third anthology, the horror-themed Of Dread, Decay, and Doom. More on that HERE:

In other news, I did a reading for a chapter of Atacama, my latest book, online today with the British Fantasy Society. I will likely be part of more online events, and especially podcasts, later this summer.
Wishing you all a pleasant weekend.
Ad astra,
Jendia
