Anthology for Supporting Appalachia
Hi all, I'm participating in a special anthology to help raise funds for those impacted by Hurricane Helene. Read on.
Hi everyone,
As you know from the news, my home region of Southern Appalachia is reeling from Hurricane Helene devastation in Western North Carolina, East Tennessee, and parts of southwestern Virginia. Also affected: the states of Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. In Western North Carolina, entire towns were obliterated. It is unimaginable and hard to wrap my head around, that the towns I knew and loved, the places I hiked and fished and bought honey, and often escaped to from the steamy lowlands are just...gone.
This is going to take years to repair. It will never be the same again. These people are suffering incredible losses. I'm sharing aid links across my social media.
I'm also participating in an anthology to help raise funds for the sufferers of this catastrophe. This is spearheaded by the North Carolina Indie Authors. I am donating a science fiction and fantasy short story for it, and I invite you to take a look, and if you are so inclined, it would be great to support this anthology and the causes listed and share:
I will also have signed books for the separate auction. Once they have that set up, I will share it.
As an East Tennessee gal on the West Coast, I am in shock and grieving and wishing I could do more. My own family back in Greene County has had to deal with loss of water and power, but they are safe. I have a cousin in Marshall, North Carolina, who has made it through the storm but was trapped at first. We probably all know somebody from those ancient mountains, and they all need our help. I'll be sharing more links over time.
Thank you,
Jendia
