Happy New Year!
Here's my January 2026 newsletter, with a peek at the year ahead.
Happy New Year, everyone! Whether you're rushing in, tiptoeing forward, or just turning the page, I hope 2026 brings you many joyful moments and true wonders.
For my part, even though it's this arbitrary marker we have, I was glad to get past 2025 for so many reasons. And I have every reason to be excited for 2026. Even a year ago, I had planned to sunset my fiction writing. But as this video shows, I'm glad I changed my mind:
The Color and the Word
Just like the past 2 years, I've chosen a color and a word for my 2026 intentions. Read what they are on my blog, and why I chose them:

A Full Slate in 2026
This is the year in which everything changes in my writing career. I had some hints of it very late in 2026, and now I know it to be the case. I wish I could elaborate more, but for now, just know that I'm really freaking glad I chose to stay in the ring, so to speak. This sums up 2025, and now onward to a thrilling 2026...
You can see my schedule so far on my home page under events, which includes book launches, convention appearances, and book tour info. Subject to change, and I think the list will grow. Super stoked that my horror/sci-fi thriller Atacama will be part of a discussion on a panel at the Bay Area Book Festival in May, alongside Sarah Gailey and other great writers! More on that soon.
What I can tell you is that I will be on book tour for at least one of my books: Dungeon Crawl at the Haunted Mall. I will be in California, Washington State, and possibly some Midwest and East Coast stops...TBD!

I will have a sprinkling of events for my other three 2026 books. And here's a refresher for all of my 2026 titles:

April 7 - The Vale of Seven Dragons - global preorders coming soon. Epic fantasy novel.
April 21 - Dungeon Crawl at the Haunted Mall: A Choose Your Own Adventure book - preorder everywhere. Middle grade fantasy horror interactive book.
August 11 - Godfestation - preorder everywhere. Appalachian weird horror novella.
October 20 - The Dawn of Dusk and Twilight - prequel to my Nebula finalist The Inn at the Amethyst Lantern and The Secret of the Sapphire Sentinel - preorders coming soon. Sci-fi and fantasy novel; this one is more adult than the others. This also ends the Amethyst Lantern Series trilogy.
Writing Update
Like Indiana Jones dashing under a crashing slab of stone, I made my book writing deadline just in time for The Dawn of Dusk and Twilight. That wraps the futuristic Lunarpunk Amethyst Lantern series by being a prequel, with the ancients of the first two books given their "origin story" that begins in this century (and in fact this decade). It's a surprisingly emotional and even romantic book, and in many ways I am sorry to see those characters go. But I feel it's a satisfying, fitting end to that series. You can always start the adventure by reading the first one, The Inn at the Amethyst Lantern:

Next up, I'm writing a sequel for a book that's not even out yet! That first book is part of a trilogy and it's The Vale of Seven Dragons, out in April. Stay tuned for global preorders for that. Should be very soon. (The hardcover may even have sprayed edges??) The sequel is called Coursers of Wings and Flame, and I look forward to getting back to the feisty Princess Githilien (Thilly) who'd rather be a knight or a sorceress than attend any fancy balls. My kinda gal*. Read about The Vale of Seven Dragons:

*that being said, I probably would attend a ball, if invited; you'd see me dancing ever closer to the snack table...
Before I finish that sequel, though, I'm working on something else. Possibly more than one thing. I have to keep my cards close to my chest on those, and there may be some January meetings that could reshape my career even more...
It's safe to say that I am firmly rooted in science fiction, fantasy, and horror. I hope you all enjoy the new stories.
In the meantime, if you want a more intimate look at my writing life, my Patreon has both free and supporting tiers. I talk about many things there, sharing a personal creative journey not found in monthly newsletters or on my blog. You can find it here: https://www.patreon.com/c/jendiagammon
We have a fresh page today. Embrace it. Let's write our own 2026 story, one of positivity and grace.
Ad astra,
