Panel Details

STAR WARS: ANDOR: From Resistance to Rebellion
Thursday July 24, 2025 12:00pm - 1:00pm PDT
Grand 10 & 11. Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina

Fighting the tyranny of the Galactic Empire is dangerous work, whether in the halls of power on Coruscant or in the dark recesses of the Outer Rim. Panelists will dive deep into the popular show Star Wars: Andor, especially season 2, and examine themes of resisting authoritarianism and aspects of outright rebellion. How do the choices made by Cassian Andor, Mon Mothma, and Luthen Rael make the galaxy more free but also more perilous? Psychologists Drea Letamendi (Lattes with Leia, The Arkham Sessions, Aliens Expanded) and Catherine Hicks will take you into the minds of Imperial loyalists like Dedra Meero and insurgent fighters like Saw Gerrera. Also charging into the fray will be speculative fiction author Jendia Gammon (Atacama, Doomflower, The Inn at the Amethyst Lantern), rhetoricist Robert Dagnall, and American Indian studies professor Desmond Hassing. Hosted by James Floyd (Star Wars author, Star Wars Insider regular contributor, Star Warsologies podcast co-host). Fight the Empire!

Book Signing at SDCC

I'll have a book signing at SDCC! This will take place at 2 PM on the same day, Thursday, July 24, at Autograph Area AA-04. I believe some of my books will be at Mysterious Galaxy Books' booth, so you can get a book there and come by my area for signing!

Full Circle

I'm very excited to return to San Diego Comic-Con, especially to discuss Star Wars: Andor. Star Wars has influenced me a great deal since I saw the first movie in the theater in 1977 at 3 years of age. I thought, at that young age, that Alderaan was Earth...yikes! And I loved R2-D2 so much. Once The Empire Strikes Back premiered 3 years later, I was in a long, snaking line with my dad to see it, over the that's-no-moon with excitement. I've watched the movies, the animated series, and the shows. Right now, I even have a blue, white, and grey budgie named Artoo.

Now, after having written my own space opera series, The Questrison Saga® (HELIOPAUSE; EPHEMERIS; ACCRETION; LUMINIFEROUS), it feels like life has come full circle. I get to talk again about the Star Wars universe, and I'm thrilled.

Thank you to James Floyd of Starwarsologies for inviting me to participate in this great talk!

Ad astra,
Jendia
